Costing for Probate Services
I try to make sure from the outset our clients only pay for the work that they need. I will always encourage the family or executors to do as much of the work themselves wherever possible.
I would of course provide guidance as to what needs to be done, and will also provide draft letters that can be used by the executors to notify banks, building societies etc.
The main types of estate as follows:
-
A simplified estate requiring the completion of a form IHT 205, will normally cost between £750 - £1200 plus VAT and disbursements (see below).
-
Where a full estate form IHT 400 is required then the costs are between £1200 - £1800 plus VAT and disbursements.
Disbursements

-
Fees per copy of the grant of representation are £1.50 per copy.
